2011 looks to become an exciting year with crafts and modelling trends on the up. One of the most common items we were asked for last year was model kits, so what better way of introducing model making into the catalogue than with Airfix. I am sure during your childhood you grew up knowing of the quality and value of an Airfix kit, none of that has changed and within the catalogue we have chosen the most popular and exciting models of their range. To compliment the Airfix range we have introduced Humbrol paints a must for any serious model maker. Make sure you keep a look out on our website as even more new designs will be launched during the coming year. One item which is usually expensive for your average model / craft enthusiast are the small hobby drills, this year we are introducing three ranges; cordless, 12 volt and 230 volt hobby drills these come with loads of accessories all packed in a handy carrying case.

Sequin Art sales hit an all time high for us last year and it looks like the trend will carry on during 2011. The introduction of two more sequin ranges; Stardust Sequin Art and My Name Sequin Art, plus more designs added to the standard ranges including the popular Meerkats in the junior Sequin Art, this in conjunction with more TV advertising should prove an instant success. TV has made Meerkats into a must-have item for many children (and maybe adults as well) so not only have they appeared in the Sequin Art but have now been launched as part of the new soft toy kits from top craft kit designer Debbie Dempsey.

The popularity of Candle Making caught us by surprise last year and we had trouble keeping up with the supply of both rubber and the rigid moulds. This year we have increased stock holdings on the rubber designs and also introduced some great value rigid moulds with more coming throughout the year. Three new Candle kits will also be launched this year ranging from beginners up to a large group set containing over ten rigid moulds & everything you could need to get started.

Our most popular range last year was Die Cut Decoupage. Not only have we added in new ranges such as the Reflections and Frames, but plenty more new designs amongst the existing ranges such as Flower Fairies, Pyramid, Twisted, Glitter, Monochrome, Foiled, Pearl and Block. Being the official distributor of Doodey products we are able to bring you all the top designs and crafts as they are launched. This year sees an even larger range of Layer Cards as well as the popular Lock It’s, Stand Up’s and of course Peel Off’s.

With the new VAT increase going up to 20% I am sure it has been a hard decision whether to pass on the extra cost or absorb it. Where possible we have reduced the prices of a lot of our own manufactured items and only increased where costs are out of our control such as in oil or paper based materials.
